Dasu Dam Project to be Executed Soon

The Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) has recently signed two agreements to execute the development process of the first stage of the 2160 MW Dasu Hydropower Project.

The agreements were signed between Wapda and China Civil Engineering Construction Company, under which, there will be relocation of Karakoram Highway (KKH) and construction of Right Bank Access Road in the project area.

Rs14.538 billion will be used to relocate 25 kilometre long stretch of KKH and is scheduled to be implemented in 564 days. The second Rs2.173 billion contract will be implemented in a year. This 12 kilometre long road patch will be constructed on the right bank of the Indus from Komila to Seo Dam site.

The district administration is currently in the process of acquiring land for Dasu Hydropower Project.
