Fuel scarcity spreads to whole Punjab
LAHORE - The fuel scarcity, which had been hitting the provincial capital for the past five days, has now spread to the whole Punjab as several cities are experiencing the same shortage.
The situation in the City regarding unavailability of petrol is showing no sign of improvement and deteriorating with the passage of time, as majority of the fuel stations have ended up their stock and were closed down on Saturday. Several cities, including Faisalabad, Multan, Vehari, Mailsi, Khanewal, Khangarh and Muzaffargarh have reportedly been facing the petroleum shortage for the last one week and the stocks of the fuel are about to end now. Most of these petrol pumps have either been shut down or near to be closed. A few petrol stations, which were selling the commodity, were being thronged by a large number of motorists and long queues in front of those stations could be seen. In Lahore, for the fifth consecutive day people struggled hard to get some fuel. Many petrol pumps in various parts of the provincial metropolis have stopped supplying fuel. A few stations are still providing oil but in a little quantity. On Saturday like previous days, fuel shortage continued perturbing people and long queues were seen at the fuel stations. People had to visit different petrol pumps in search of fuel. Some of the PSO’s outlets, had the product available but only for a short time due to the pressure of customers on the outlets. |
