Creek Vistas Project: DHA holds meeting with consultant, contractors
KARACHI (September 24 2008): A meeting to review the progress of Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Creek Vistas project, located astride the Arabian Sea in DHA Phase-VIII, was held at DHA Main Office here on Tuesday. The meeting chaired by DHA Administrator Brigadier Khalid Tirmizi was attended by consultant and contractors of DHA Creek Vistas project. The project, which is the largest single residential high-rise development in Pakistan, is in its advanced stages of completion. Creek Vistas, the prestigious DHA project in Creek City overlooking the Arabian Sea, has 12 towers each of 18 storeys and there are altogether 720 luxurious state-of-the-art residential apartments in the complex. This mammoth upper end urban development project was unique of its kind in the country, it was further pointed out. Structural work on all 12 blocks has been completed, while quality finishes with aesthetics, functionality and sustainability of the apartments are in its advanced stage of finishing. Fast track development of essential utilities including water, gas and electricity etc, allied facilities, infrastructure and external/internal services are nearing completion. Stringent quality control of the project has been ensured through the DHA integral team, while the consultant Meinhardt has ensured compliance with highest structural specifications and quality control. The project, spread over 19 acres of land with three million square feet covered area, will have a dedicated O/M Company for provision of efficient services to the residents, a club house and all other allied modern facilities including elegant landscaping of residential complex. In the wake of the overall depleting economic condition in the country the project in its advanced stage has also been affected. The consultants cited technical reasons, while the contractors quoted implication of cost of construction due to rise in cost of materials and labour along with other inflationary trends for the reason of delay in timely completion of the project. The DHA Administrator stressed upon the need of expeditious and timely completion of the prestigious DHA Creek Vistas project. He said that he attached top most priority to the completion of the venture at all cost. The DHA Administrator asked the contractors and the project consultant to resolve all the bottlenecks amicably, overcome the impediments smoothly and to spare no efforts in ensuring fast track completion of the project in the stipulated time. He stressed upon the need to ensure the commencement of handing over of apartments duly completed to the allotees beginning with the turn of the current year.
