Gwadar: Revised incentive package for G-EPZ next week

ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet is scheduled to meet on Tuesday (October 7) to consider revised incentive package for Gwadar Export Processing Zone (G-EPZ), official sources told Daily Times on Saturday. ECC, in its meeting on September 23, had deferred the approval of this package due to strong opposition by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). The ECC had constituted a high level committee to review the proposed incentive package for G-EPZ. The ECC of the Cabinet would meet here under the Chairmanship of Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani to review the price situation especially after Eid. The ECC has constituted a committee comprising of senior officials from Industries, Planning Commission, FBR and government of Balochistan to study the incentive package for establishing various special economic zones and EPZs. The committee had been directed to review the proposed incentives and submit its revised incentive package for G-EPZ in the next meeting of the ECC, official sources added. staff report
