Sindh CM Directs to Repair Highway near Khairpur

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has directed the concerned authorities of works and services department to start working on the worn-out portion of the National Highway bypass near Therhi Khairpur.

Minister asked officials to take up the issue with the National Highway Authority to get the portion repaired because road accidents have become frequent there. The Chief Minister issued the directive after highlighting that the portion was dilapidated and heavy traffic had developed craters there, where vehicles flipped often.

Only in the month of November, four accidents had taken place there claiming around 60 lives. He stressed the need to carry out repair work of the National Highway on immediate basis to prevent accidents.

He also directed the secretary of the LG department to present a detailed report about civic conditions in Sukkur and why the roads have not been repaired yet.
