Work on Sialkot-Lahore Expressway, Ring Road soon

The Punjab government has approved the projects of early establishment of Sialkot-Lahore Expressway and a Ring Road around Sialkot city to provide better means of communication to locals.
Gujranwala Division Commissioner Khawaja Shumail Ahmed disclosed this while presiding over a meeting of the district heads of the nation-building departments and local elected representatives at Sialkot DCO office here on Saturday.
He said that feasibility reports of the projects of Sialkot-Lahore Expressway and Ring Road were being prepared, which would soon be sent to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for a final approval.
The Commissioner also gave a final deadline of March 31, 2015 to the officials concerned for the completion of much delayed mega project of construction, widening and dualization of 46-km-long main Sialkot-Daska-Gujranwala Road.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has approved early establishment of as many as three girls’ degree colleges one each at Satrah-Daska, Maraakiwal-Sialkot and Bajra Garhi-Pasrur for providing higher education facilities to local girl students at local level.
The commissioner revealed that construction of the buildings of these colleges would be started very soon. MNA Sahibzada Syed Iftikharul Hassan Shah, MPAs - Ch Muhammad Ikram, Mansha Ullah Butt, Rana Abdul Sattar, Rana Liaqat Ali, Rana Muhammad Afzal, Ch Mohsin Ashraf, Shabeena Wyne, Zulfiqar Ghauri, DCO Nadeem Sarwar, DPO Dr Shehzad Asif, DO Health Dr Javaid Warraich and District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Sialkot Syed Kamal Abid also attended the meeting.
TRACKING SYSTEM: DPO Dr Shehzad Asif has vowed to restore tracking system in all the official vehicles of police patrolling in district, with a sole aim to bring betterment in patrolling system.
Talking to newsmen at his office here, the DPO revealed that the tracking system would also be helpful in monitoring the actual performance of police and their movements as well.
He said that Rescue 15 system was also being made effective in the district for providing relief to people against emergency crimes.
He said that one window operation system had been introduced at Sialkot DPO office for issuance of character certificates to people, saying that the applicant will have to come there for once and then the police will provide the character certificates to applicants at their given addresses through the courier service.
