Islamabad: PAC directs CDA to submit detailed report on plots row
Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Monday directed the officials of Capital Development Authority (CDA) to submit details regarding the issue of merging 11 CDA plots into four in Sector I- 8/2 of the federal capital.
PML-Q MNA Riaz Fatyana informed the PAC meeting through a question on Monday that there were 11 plots in Street no. 37, in Sector I-8/2 of the federal capital. However, he alleged that the CDA authorities had merged those plots into four for ‘petty personal gains,’ making those plots Four-Corner plots. “Moreover, a rainy canal in the rear was renovated with millions of rupees,” he said, adding that this malpractice had badly harmed the total revenue of the CDA. The CDA authorities informed the committee that the matter was already pending with the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP). PAC Chairman Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan was of the view that the PAC could probe into the matter as the SCP has already allowed the parliamentary committees to do so. He directed the CDA authorities to submit a detailed report over the issue. http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=153443 |
