Peshawar: Hashwani vows to rebuild PC in two months
DUBAI: Saddrudin Hashwani, chairman of Pakistan Services Limited, while strongly denouncing the attack on his hotel in Peshawar, has said that Pakistan is facing war-like situation and has to flush out terrorists and extremists for country’s survival.
He said he would not seek compensation from the government and would build the Pearl Continental Hotel within two months, as he built the Marriott within three months to save Pakistan’s reputation at international level. Talking to a private TV channel, he said: “We are giving foolproof security to the foreigners and visitors in our hotels in Pakistan, but it is the responsibility of the government to maintain security outside.” He said the government should have provided the mobile unit outside the hotels, but it was taking the security issue lightly. Such type of incident would cause negative and bad impact on Pakistan’s economy, he said, adding that the investment in Pakistan would be blocked. “No one would come to Pakistan if such situation continues,” he warned. To a question he said: “There is no need to give security to ministers in Pakistan.” The government should determine the causes behind such incident, he said. http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=182466 |
