Miss You Swat (by an 11 year old girl)
The laughter of the children, the happiness and hope of the people suddenly vanished into thin air. All now turned into tears; nothing seems to be dry.
Everything is wet, drenched and soaked in blood. I miss you Swat. Everything gone to waste, nothing but the hopeless dreams which are bitter to taste. The people’s minds and hearts filled with pain and terror for themselves and their loved ones who have no place left to go. They scream to the heavens but no one seems to answer their prayers. And as each day passes by these pleas grow softer and softer until even they cease to exist. I miss you Swat. The beauty of the gardens, orchards and valleys destroyed. The flowers, the trees all dried up and dead in the hope that someone will come and save them. So what’s there to live for? But now is not the time, the war rages on and everyone is gone. They are suffering, not us, so why all the fuss? Blood is at every corner; even the droplets of rain glisten ruby-red. I miss you swat. Once again I’ll say I miss you — I dearly miss you Swat. — Aleena Khalil (An 11-year-old student) http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=184342 |
