Punjab: Building Control Authority will be setup to control commercialisation: CM
* CM takes stern notice of lack of potable water, sewerage system in new localities
Staff Report LAHORE A Building Control Authority will be set up for the creation of a uniform commercialisation policy for Lahore and the whole province, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif said on Saturday. He said the recommendations for commercialisation would be finalised within a week and a master plan of Lahore should be kept in view while evolving the policy. He said the master plan and the commercialisation policy should be compatible with each other. The CM said additional resources were of paramount importance for urban development, therefore, special attention should be paid to the generation of additional resources for the development of cities while evolving the commercialisation policy. Notice: He took stern notice of the shortage of basic necessities, like potable water and a sewerage system in the new localities of Lahore built during the last decade. Shahbaz directed the Lahore commissioner to evolve a comprehensive plan to check the illegal use of state land to ensure public welfare. He said the committees made for the purpose had developed the recommendations with hard work, and a comprehensive commercialisation policy would be formulated in the light of those recommendations. http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp...009_pg13_3 |
