ITP’s FM radio service in few days
Staff Report
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) will formally launch FM (frequency modulation) 92.4 Radio Service in the next few days to educate the citizens on traffic rules and regulations, said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sultan Azam Taimuri in a press statement on Thursday. He said the radio service, whose test transmission was started on Wednesday, would be sixth non-commercial one as permitted by Pakistan Electronic Media and Regulatory Authority (PEMRA). Currently, four commercial and six non-commercial FM radio channels are operational in Islamabad. The SSP said the transmission would inform motorists about traffic flow in the city during rush hours in a bid to ensure their safety. Meanwhile, SSP Tahir Alam Khan on Thursday directed police officials to improve their performance. He issued this directive while chairing a meeting held to review the performance of all circle officers and station house officers (SHOs) and position of cases under investigation, pending references and arrest of proclaimed offenders (POs), court absconders and military deserters during the last 15 days. http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp...009_pg11_4 |
