11 Development Schemes Approved by Punjab Government
Feasibility study for raising Rawal Dam and establishment of University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences at Bahawalpur are among the 11 development schemes approved by the Punjab government with an estimated cost of Rs6,695.570 million.
During the sixth meeting of Provincial Development Working Party for the fiscal year 2014-15, Irfan Elahi, the Chairman of Punjab Planning and Development Board, has approved improvement and rehabilitation of existing Multan Road from Chauburji to Thokar Niaz Beg in Lahore at cost of Rs311 million. He also approved the establishment of University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences at Bahawalpur at the cost of Rs2,350 million. Approval was also granted for the feasibility study for raising the Rawal Dam at the cost of Rs38.059 million, feasibility study of Qutib Bandi Dam Site at the cost of Rs39.507 million, and feasibility study of Thatha Dam Project at the cost of Rs43.844 million. Other development schemes approved included the construction of road from Narowal to Lahore at the cost of Rs697.626 million, and widening and improvement of Mianwali-Muzaffargarh road at the cost of Rs1,032.896 million. |
