Work on Karachi-Lahore motorway to begin soon: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday said that the motorway police will play key role in the fight against terrorism.
The prime minister was addressing the annual performance awards distribution ceremony of the National Highways and Motorways Police in Islamabad, ARY News reported.
Sharif said that the government will soon initiate work on the Karachi-Lahore motorway project.
He said the experience of constructing a motorway was successful, adding that more motorways projects will be started in the country.
The Premier said that the economic corridor will boost trade activities in the region. He vowed to build a motorway from Gwadar to Kashghar.
Prime Minister Sharif distributed awards to Motorways Police personnel who showed exemplary performance in discharging their professional duties.
