Rawalpindi: Philanthropists asked to help special children school setup near DHA, BT
Rawalpindi
Principal Hassan Academy Dr Hassan on Friday asked the philanthropists and wealthy persons to come forward to help physically and hearing-impaired children getting education in private schools as it is the social and moral obligation of the entire nation. “Presently, 170 special children are being imparted education in the academy out of them, 60 are being provided food and shelter and they need help,” he said in a statement issued here. Around 900 special children are on waiting list for admission in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad but they could not be accommodated in the academy at present owing to small building. Therefore, the management is searching a suitable building for the school, he said and added, “We are also seeking the cooperation of the provincial government.” A new branch of Hasan Academy for hearing and physically impaired children has been set up in Gulraiz Colony area for physically and hearing impaired children. “Special children residing in Behria Town, Chaklala Scheme, Defence Housing Scheme and adjoining areas will be given admission,” he added. http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=161201 |
