Govt approves uplift schemes
LAHORE : The Punjab government has approved chief minister’s Ujaala programme (Revised), a scheme of energy sector, at an estimated cost of Rs 3416.540 million on Friday.
The scheme was approved in the 21st meeting of provincial development working party of current financial year 2012-13 presided over by Punjab Planning and Development Board Chairman Javaid Aslam. Planning & Development Punjab Secretary Arif Anwar Baloch, members of the Planning & Development Board and other senior representatives of relevant provincial departments also participated in the meeting. The meeting also approved eight other development schemes of various sectors of the economy at a cost of Rs 3003.169 million. The approved development schemes include: Extension in Gestation of PC-II “Survey & Studies to prepare Master Plan to develop Murree as Pollution Free Tourist Town” (Issue) at a cost of Rs 13.900 million, establishment of Wazirabad Institute of Cardiology, Wazirabad, district Gujranwala (1st Phase-50 beds) at a cost of Rs 1277.892 million, establishment of Strategic Planning Unit & Project Management Units (Revised PC-II) at a cost of Rs 124.485 million, widening/improvement of a road from Sangla Hill to Sukehkey via Marblochan (length 22.20 km) (2nd Revised) at a cost of Rs 236.968 million, widening/improvement of Sheikhupura to Sargodha Road Km No. 37 to 49.56 to 61.30 & 71.10 to 83.30 length=20 Km in district Sheikhupura (Revised) at a cost of Rs. 920.568 million, Lahore Ring Road Project Construction of road along Khaira Distributary from Package 17 to Ferozepur Road (Revised) at a cost of Rs 424.756 million, appointment of Consultant for the Police College Chung, Lahore (PC-II) at a cost Rs 1.200 million and strengthening Internal Financial Controls in Finance Department for better Financial Management (Revised PC-II) at a cost of Rs 3.40 million. |
