Govt gives green signal to Leh Expressway project
Thursday, February 20, 2014 - Rawalpindi—Punjab government has given green signal to initiate Leh Expressway project.
Rawalpindi divisional and district administration sought details on the progress so far made on this project following the yes nod by the government for launching of this project but the administration could not obtain noteworthy details from Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) in this respect. Rawalpindi district management has started planning to work out Nullah Leh project afresh. The management is mulling over conducting the survey of Nullah Leh again. Well placed sources said both federal and provincial government has agreed over initiating this project. Government is considering to build this project on the basis of BOT out of different packages. Proposals are under consideration to construct commercial centers and levy toll tax to generate revenue for this project. Decision to keep the Nullah Leh covered or open will be taken following the approval of new feasibility report. It has also been decided to get conduct the survey by revenue department to determine the limits of Nullah Leh. |
