Islamabad Police divided into four divisions

Altering the structure of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police, IGP Syed Kaleem Imam issued a notification here on Wednesday with regard to the division of police into four geographical sections. According to the notification, the Islamabad Police have been divided into City, Sadar, Industrial Area and Rural divisions, official sources said. Each division would comprise two sub-divisions and four police stations, sources said adding that the divisional SP would be responsible for operation as well as investigation. SP (Investigation) Sajid Kiani has been transferred as SP (City Division). He will supervise City and Secretariat sub-divisions, comprising City, Kohsar, Secretariat and Bhara Kahu. SP Abdul Ghaffar Qaisarani has been appointed as SP Industrial Area Division. He will supervise Industrial Area, Sabzi Mandi, Women’s Police Stations and Rescue-15. A new police station is established in Sector I-8. SP Nasir Aftab (former SP West) has been transferred as SP Sadar Division. He would be responsible for Margalla and Sadar sub-divisions and four police stations — Shalimar, Margalla, Tarnol and Golra. SP Malik Mumtaz has again been sent to the Rural Division. He would supervise Sihala, Karal, Shahzad Town and Nilore police stations. SP Saqib Sultan has been appointed as SP Investigation.
