Lists of illegal housing schemes sent for display

Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has sent lists to Overseas Pakistanis Foundation, Governor, State Bank and Revenue Department of illegal housing schemes in limits of Rawalpindi.

In the letter, the RDA proposed that OPF should display these lists in Pakistan’s foreign missions, State Bank should link grant of loans to housing scheme with NOC issued by RDA and Revenue Department should impose ban on sale and purchase of land in these housing schemes.

According to details, under the directive of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Town Planning Director Aftab Jamshed has sent lists of 24 housing societies to important organisations.

OPF, Governor State Bank and Revenue Department, Wapda, Sui Gas, PTCL and other departments have been asked to compel the owners of housing schemes to get NOC from RDA, before providing the basic facilities, he added. He said the concerned departments should not give facilities to illegal housing societies.
