Lahore: LDA DG to visit private housing schemes
TAKING serious view of the complaints regarding lack of basic amenities and non-completion of development works in certain private housing schemes, Director General Lahore Development Authority Omer Rasul has announced his visit to these schemes one by one.
He said he would visit Venus Town, Ferozpur Road, for this purpose on Sunday. He will take possession of the 20 per cent plots that had been mortgaged to LDA as a guarantee for carrying out theses development works including laying of water supply, sewerage, construction of roads and provision of other facilities. DG LDA Omer Rasul has also decided to work in LDA office, Johar Town, instead of LDA Plaza, Egerton Road, Lahore, with a view to ensure speedy solution to people’s problems. The DG has also ordered all the directors to sit close to the One Window Cell on the same premises instead of their own offices for this purpose. On Thursday, the DG LDA spent several hours at the One Window Cell at LDA office Johar Town and passed on-the-spot orders for taking necessary actions on cases pertaining to transfer of plots, approval of building plans and other related affairs and ensured instantaneous implementation of these orders by the officials. With a view to avoid unnecessary difficulties, applicants have been asked to come to One Window Cell for solution to their problems. They will not be allowed to enter into the main building of the office. They can now come to One Window Cell only where proper sitting arrangement has been made for them besides installation of air-conditioners at this building. On the directive of Director General, project for linking all office of LDA with computer networking has been commenced. It will be completed within a month or so. http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=183863 |
